lol, yeah softer corals, especially zoa's love dirty water. That is why I keep mine at about 15 to 20ppm.

I normally try to keep my nitrates at 20ppm.

Just an fyi, that material cannot bind nitrate from seawater. The best it can do in that regard is export organics in the water before they can break down to give ammonia/nitrate.

Do you use filter socks ? From my experience I had elevated NO3 in the 75 ppm range and tried numerous things.
Once I removed the filter socks and NO3 bio block my NO3 went down. For a bit (3 months) I used BioPellets.
I suspect the filter socks and bio block was actually adding to the NO3.

Recent values:

I do have ongoing detectable NO2.
