High numbers of dead pods?

I've been noticing a high number of dead pods swirling around the overflows of my tank or when I take samples to test alk or salinity, i've seen some large amphipods (white with a tiny swimming legs, that are all unmoving). I'm thinking amphipods because they're large enough to be visible and distinguish the tiny swimming legs. However, they're all unmoving. Probably hundreds of them, just swirling waiting to be captured by my filtration in the sump.

Is it normal for them to die off then be skimmed out or filtered out in such large numbers? I haven't noticed any other issues other than the disappearance of algae in the display and the cyano is receding as well, had some abundant nutrient issues. It's finally under control. Is it just starving pods dying off?

If they appeared over a short period of time I would think it's either a result of much less food availability or something you've dosed to the system. Anything new dosing wise?

Those could be molts too. They grow by shedding their skins like crabs and shrimps.

It can be a number of things, they shed, could be lack of food or simply getting stuck in filtration and floating out. ~Shaun K

I never thought of molts! Thanks! I would say they looked more like molts than corpses. Just becuase I would think the corpses would rot faster and maybe not float as much. So, Hundreds, if not thousands of molts, can only mean one thing.... I have thousands of pods all growing up? I'm a proud daddy! I've got two wrasses and a copperband, I thought for sure my Pod populations would be well controlled. Most likely not.
