High PH in new CRx set up

I just hooked up my calcium reactor and filled it with Media and tank water. I haven’t added any CO2 yet. I know this probe is calibrated very well but I’m getting a high reading of pH in the calcium reactor. Is this just Dude of the Media that’s in there?

I calibrated it with another new double junction ph probe a few days ago. When I pull the one out of the CRx and put it next to the probe in the tank I get the same pH. I’m sure I’m getting the right reading. Maybe it’s all of the media in the reactor? I know a lot of people have duel reactors to bring the pH back up. This just seems high. I let the outlet go full blast for 30 or so minutes and it dropped to 8.5

What media?

There's a media going around that must have been processed in some weird way to give a pH boost when it hits the water.

Just proceed as usual.

Thank you guys for your input.

I’m thinking I’m going to make the effluent stream slowly and only lower the pH to 7.4 on 7.3 off and just text daily. Lowering the pH gradually until I meet my tanks needs. My demand is low right now, 44 mls of two part daily.

I can't find the threads at the moment to see if that was the brand, but it will resolve itself.
