My alkalinity bounces around 7 while pH stays pretty close to 8.2-8.4. When I dose anything to raise alkalinity (2 part solutions) my pH will rise rapidly. I can knock it back down with seltzer however this is a little time consuming . Is there anyway to safely raise alk without raising pH. Thanks

Can you give us some information on your dosing practices and how you are measuring pH? Are you using a probe? Are you using dosers or manually dosing? Are you dosing daily or multiple times a day?

Baking soda will raise alkalinity and will cause a very small pH drop when first added. :)

FWIW, unless the pH rises above 8.55, there's no concern about elevated pH. :)
