High PH reading

I did a water change and test yesterday, as I do weekly. 10L water change from 120L system.

Before I do the change I do a series of water tests. I had a high Nitrite reading and for some reason, my gut said to test the water again so I did.

Today my Ph is showing at about 8.4

Normally it's an 8.0 steady!

The only thing different is once I cleaned my glass yesterday the powerhead was tilting slightly lower and has disturbed some of my substrate.

Why would be Ph go so high in 24 hours?

Ph does change depending on time of day. And tests are prone to error.

I would not fret so much about obtaining a reading as i would to keep it stable. My tank typically has 7.7 and rather than battle it, i focus on maintaining its current status and corals are all happy
