High phosphates effects euphyllia

This is more sharing experience rather than a question. 2 weeks ago I noticed my frogspawn and hammers not opening more than 1/4" off the skeleton after months of nice big pretty plump tenticals. I initially thought it was a decrease in nutrients. I did a "deep clean" and nitrates dropped to below 5. For the past year my phosphates have held steady below .50. I didn't think to check again. Tested phosphates this morning at 2.5. I'm guessing this is the issue. BUT, am open to any suggestions.

That's the odd thing. I was running chemistry elite.

Any brand of GFO is fine for this purpose, and it will take a lot at that level.

Are you sure you’re not getting false test readings?
If using API test kit, you very well may be.

Running a phosgard pack now. Still gotta find the source though. Thinking It may be my over feeding of reef roids.

It's possible. But can't say for sure until I can get a different phosphate test.

Just tested w a fluval kit and got a 2.5 reading as well.

I would test with a Hanna LR, when I was using api it would be dark green , once I used Hanna it was .2 ppm

Overfeeding of reef roids is the cause, the stuff raises phosphate levels easily.

Thought so. Got lazy and didn't target feed for a few weeks.
