High salt levels

tds = total disolved solids

As in water through a good water filter that you would use for mixing water for a reef tank. Most people use a reverse osmosis unit, but there are other methods of filtering water to basically take everything out to make it ideal for a reef tank.

Well. Let me rephrase my first comment. Slowly take out the saltwater and replace with fresh water until you reach the salinity that you would like it.

I ran my frag tank at 1.029 (accidentally) for almost a month LOL things are still thriving. I would think that short exposures like that are fine.

That's not too high. Just add fresh water until it comes down.

How do I lower my salt level my is way to high?
Over the course of the day water from your tank wil evaporate .. so unless you are using an auto top off ., your salt level will rise over the course of the day .. so you will need too check everyday and adjust it accordingly,by adding fresh water .
