High Silicate issues?

Are there any coral related issues that can start when silica is to high? My recent ICP test showed a max result 0.5pmm (which is the max at which Reeffactory can test Silica). Previous ICP test showed 0.26ppm 6 months earlier.

There is no concern with elevated Si unless you have problematic levels of diatoms. I’d just ignore it.

Haven’t seen any coral related issues from high Si, but have seen some Diatom bloom.



OP…..500 ug/L is nothing. Install a Silicate Buster in last DI stage if in your source water.

Thanks, already ordered an extra DI stage after finding out! But will not do any attempts to lower the already existing level.
