I am not aware of what are the most common sources of barium, but I also would not worry about it. It is not very toxin in a marine system.

I also would not worry about silicate unless you have a problematic level of diatom growth. I dosed it to levels higher than that, and many people have it far higher than yours without issue.

Here's my comments on silicate from my triton results article:

Silicon (Si). I dose silicate (as sodium silicate solution) to my aquarium. I boost the concentration to about 200 µg/L of silicon equivalent once a week or so. This water sample was drawn one week after the last dose of silicate. I know from previous studies that silicate is rapidly depleted in my tank, presumably by sponges (the reason I dose it), by diatoms, and possibly by the GFO that I use to bind phosphate.

hello Randy, I do not immediately worrying but I have a brown layer on the sandbed and on the windows that is annoying to see.

Could the zeostones leach silicate?

I'm not sure what they are, so I cannot say.

il will look at a sample tomorrow under the microscope
