High TDS

So I’ve been filling my new tank (90gal) with RODI I’ve been making at home. I’m about 69 gallons in and I decided to take a TDS reading and saw it was rather high.

my question is… am I screwed? Do I need to start over?

Also please consider that I also treated the water with Sechem Prime due to high chloramines.

Do you have any type of chloramine filter/block on your RODI?
If your municipal water system is adding chloramines to the water, you really should be filtering it out before it makes it to your RO membrane. chloramines can cause an RO membrane to degrade quickly. So it's best to run a carbon or chloramine block designed to filter out chloramines, that filters them out before they ever make it to the membrane.

When you say the TDS was high... how high?

also, did you take the measurement right from the product line or directly from a clean container?

My TDS was 51 (with an inexpensive meter). Measured from a clean bucket.

Any measure I can take to salvage an otherwise full tank?

I run a sediment and double carbon before it hits the membrane, then it goes through a DI.
I live in Fl and I guess we are known for “crappy” water.
Last membrane lasted about a year. I don’t need to mix so I only use about 3 gallons a day.

Honestly I’m not sure how you deal with high TDS put into tank water.
It would all depend what specifically was elevated.

How does the tank look?

Any algae blooms?

Literally just finished filling it. Need to start cycle

Things like Seachem Prime raise tds. So will contact with sand.
