High Tin

How old is the tank? Have you added any new plastic items (reactors etc) or pipework (rigid pipe or flexible hose)?

Since you have no other metals in the tank, it's highly unlikely to be corrosion (I couldn't access the latest test). It's far more likely to be contamination from tin based plasticisers and stablisers which often coat PVC.

If you perform the standard 6 x 15% water changes, it will remove the tin. Once done, that's typically the last you will see of it as it doesn't appear to leach, but be more of a surface contamination.

The second one doesn't show properly. Is it higher or lower than the April reading?

Tin may also come from the glass itself, but yours is quite high and I'd take action with typical metal binders to see if they help (metasorb, cuprisorb, Boyd polyfilter).

Polyfilter has been poor at removing tin compounds in my experience, as is cuprisorb. Some have reported metasorb removes it, but I rather suspect it’s down to the exact compound.

7ppb higher on the second test; I fixed the link.

Additions were a Pax Bellum N18, 2 new MP40 wetsides. I also just swapped my Mag 9.5 out for a COR 20, but that was after the latest sample was sent in. I've added a ton of coral as well that was dipped in Bayer. Everything else remains the same. I did do one 20% water change a couple days before taking my sample

What’s the algae reactor been plumbed in with? I have seen high tin levels after addition of a similar algae reactor. Perhaps the material used has a lot of stabilisers so it withstands the light. I’m not sure.

I would do the water changes which will remove the tin

1/2" vinyl. Reactor itself appears to be acrylic and pvc
