Higher nitrates euphyllia

Is it me or do your euphyllia lol better with higher nitrates. At like 10 they don't look as happy as about 20.
 
Yea I’ve seen mine do great around 40ppm. it’s the high phosphates that really bug them in my experience

I was at .9 with no issues soon as I started bringing them down the uglies started to come around and they don't look nowhere as good
 
One needs to be careful extrapolating what are desirable nitrate levels from one system to another because nitrate is not the only, or even the preferred nitrogen source for corals.

Specifically, the amount of N that corals get from ammonia may vary greatly depending on the levels of ammonia present.

Thus, one tank doing great with 0.01 ppm nitrate (or 1 or 5, etc.) might not extrapolate to a second tank where ammonia is lower so more nitrate is needed.
