As this is an expensive hobby, I enjoy finding cheaper alternatives and be able to keep nice corals.

These pics are of my 100g set up with a 50g sump. Marine land canister filter, used pumps, fluval led's and one long blue grow bulb. I knew this would hold off most of my coral, had almost no growth as the lights were bought for a 30g, I was able to keep acropora for three months before I moved. So I finally bought these Chinese LED's because the fluval and bulb combo wasn't working well.

So far hanging the lights was a pain, I'm not handy with stuff like this. So after finally hanging the lights. They are super quiet, the color is so so much better than what I had. They are missing the obvious extras like timers, remote adjustments from cell phones, storm or sunset. But that to me doesn't justify the extra money. I have the blues at 70-80% and whites around 30. Hung them around 16" from the water surface. I will admit going from such a low quality lighting to these is a massive upgrade. The colors of the corals are hugely improved.

First pics are with my old light combo

I will keep updating this. And hope we get some good growth

It looks good! How much were those lights? Sadly, blue lights always show up terribly on phones. You can try using a color filter to make it look more like it appears to you.

I have been running them for two years. I'm thinking of replacing them with programmable units, but not because I'm unhappy with these lights.

Wow nice! I wouldn't mind programable lights, but with three kids, I can't justify spending the extra.

Nice tank 3dees

Those look like mars aqua which aren't bad lights, I use 2 on my 72g qt which also has some coral in it. (Not a true qt I only treat with prazi in it)

The lights do lack the greens and reds found in many full spectrum lights now. IMO those make a huge difference. I run reefbreeders on my display and love them. I have a few of the whites swapped out with a couple reds and greens as I think there is generally much more white than needed. Reefbreeders will swap out the bulbs free with a purchase, but i'm not sure about other vendors.

A few dollars more?? Those are over 3 times the price of the $90 shipped light this guy is talking about.

For only 199 he could have grabbed a Dolphin and had all the built in controller...

Could you please give more information on the Dolphin lights?
