Anyone ever build a hinged screen top?
Like the front third flips back for feeding etc?
Or some sort of a small hatch?
I'm open to ideas!

Should probably be in DIY but too late..posted it here.

Black aluminum hinges, and screws flip up and feed, flip down to close.

Home Depot has the kits and BRS sells the clear netting.

Stay away from these...

The centers are open and they are extermly flimsy!

These are the ones you want...

So basically you screwed the hinges to the larger frame and built a smaller frame for the door. I'm floored...I can't believe my brain couldn't think this through! I have a BRS screen top already. Just need to cut, frame and hinge it! Just need to source some additional clips to hold it all in place.
Thanks so much!

If you have a miter saw cutting the aluminum is very easy and makes for an easy job.

Post up some pictures once you have them:D

I didn't make a door, I just made two tops for my 48" x 24" tank. I had plumbing over the top of the tank and couldn't use a one piece top. The eggcrate was attached to the front and rear of each screen panel and gutter guard was attached to the bottom of the eggcrate, since I have had fish get through eggcrate tops before. I just prop up one of the tops to feed or put my magnet cleaner in the tank. Both tops easily lift off the tank completely. Anyway, just another idea. I have been happy with the way they came out.

where do you find those?

Home Depot normally has them, Lowe's only seems to have the open center ones.

Parts now here. I'll build it and post pics over the weekend.
Thanks!

Built the smaller door section but waiting on the support clips so I can cut down the larger section and attach it! They should have been here Friday according to tracking... Argh...
