Hippo Tang has Major Scabs - Need Advice

My Hippo tang has been with me for 18 months and always had a good sleeping spot under a giant rock. However as of last 2 months my 12 large turbo trap the entrance. At one point the Hippo was stuck for 48hours and I only got him out by hitting the turbos with a pvc pipe.

I know the Hippo was ok for awhile bc the turbos ended up somewhere else but now they are back and he is barely eating the amount I'm used to seeing.


Any suggestions what this is.

My suggestion, place turbos in sump until algae shows up or narrow the opening so that the fish can get in but turbos can’t

Way to many turbos to move but I am planning on building a structure with rocks as you mentioned but it's not an easy accessible place.

Here's the hippo obsessing about one turbos blocking his cave. This rock has a large opening. Turbos move at night but I think the scratch marks on the hippo are from scraping while he is getting out. I am concerned the hippo is going to die from stress

Tang needs more rock cover/structure. This is an open door to the snails

Thanks....I have a lot of places for tangs since I build the scape to accommodate them. However, I did not accommodate enough for the Hippo which need essentially a bedroom. I have to get to work tonight and hope the fish does not die.
