Thanks a lot for the help. Some more queries plz .
1. Are you sure it's a bacterial infection. No parasite or fungus ?
2. Is it going to spread to other fish??
3. Likely reason for the disease. I had been lazy in feeding my fish lately. And added some corals.
4. What are the likely chances of survival.
Thanks a lot .

1. pretty darn sure that is a severe bacterial infection.
2. Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the cause of it and the other fish's individual immune systems.
3. Without knowing what preempted the infection it's difficult to know the true cause. It would be a very good time to get back to feeding your fish well again. Adding vitamins to the food will help greatly as well.
4. If you act quickly to give the acriflavin bath and start treatment, then he's got a semi decent chance. If you do nothing or wait too long to act, then his chances are extremely low.

Thanks a lot for the help. But a few problems I am facing. My local fish store doesn't have these fancy medicines. I can get amoxciline 250 mg. And use it per 10 gal of water. And repeat after 24 hours. Any suggestions on that ? Again thanks for the help.

I've used amoxicillin on sick nems (with good results), but it didn't help much with the fish. Most Penicillin-based antibiotics are useless for treating sick fish.

Can you get kanamycin and/or nitrofuran? Or erythromycin & minocycline? Or any of the sulfa drugs (Sulfamerazine, Sulfamethazine, Sulfathiazole)? Those antibiotics work better on fish bacterial infections and they can even be combined to treat a wider spectrum of bacterial diseases.

A few more options can be found here: http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/AquariumMedication2.html

Thanks for the advice. Yes I can get these in powder and tablets form. Can u suggest the dosage. I really don't know how much to add.
One more thing. À powder blue tang was always chasing it around . Now I have sold him. Will that change his condition?? Or does he still needs antibiotics.

Tell me the exact meds (powder form is best) you plan on using, and I'll look up dosage info. Removing the PBT eliminated the cause, but I would still treat as the damage inflicted looks to now be infected.

I have got MINOCYCLINE (HCL) BP 100mg.
And it's in tablets form. [emoji58]

20 mg per 10 gallons of water; Minocycline is best paired with erythromycin @ 250 mg per 10 gallons. Repeat dosage every 24 hrs and do a 25% WC every 48 hrs.

Thanks a lot humblefish. Just a few questions. Weighing 10 mg is tough. So can I just use erythromycin 250 mg. And for a tablet I just have to dissolve it in rodi water and put it in the tank. And how many days should i dose . Thanks once again. Really greatfull.

10-14 days; you can use a digital scale to measure 10 mg

One more thing friend. Isn't it a lot of antibiotics for a 3 inch fish.? And we are dosing it again ever 24 hours. Won't the concentration increase too much. Like humans take 250 mg meds. I am just being cautious. Thanks again.

Yikes I agree that’s a nasty bacterial infection and it appears that you were taken good care of.

I think I also se doofential hexamita on that fish, @Humblefish do you see it? Any white stringy poo, op?

Good news is that antibiotics will likely help with this as well.

That's good then. Fish looks fine till now. But she is not eating. Looks scared in the hospital. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the help guys. [emoji16]
