Hippo Tang impaled with propeller

Anyone ever seen nemo and the part where he has to go through the filter? My hippo tang failed doing that and now has this hole around .5cm away from its gills. The size of the hippo is around 2 inches, and it seems like it's swimming decently but the second I placed into the tank again, it crashed into a coral. Breathing rate seems to be increasing majorly as well. Any recommendations of what to do?

So. Your hippo tang was impaled by what exactly? Did the object penetrate all the way through the fish (a through & through)? I'd like a picture for sure. The best you can get or a video would rock.

If you have methyline blue, it may be a good idea to try a dip in that to help heal the wound. Be ready with antibiotics.. if he survives, he's likely to need them soon.

Impaled by a PP-4 Wave Maker.
Will get pictures soon. Seems like the wound is not very deep yet still seeing some red through the hole. Wondering if it damaged anything major.

Also, put him in a QT or at least an acclimation box so he'll stop crashing into things.

Yeah. Do the bath and get the antibiotics just in case. Kanaplex or Furan 2 or both would be a good start.

It's a deep wound for such a small fish. Possibility of infection exists.

The Hippo Tang seems like it's recovering and eating well. Will add antibiotics into its food as well.

Poor little guy. Time to ensure your fish can't get into the filter. Glad he is doing well.
