Hippo Tang Unusual Behavior. Eating Torch.

Last night I noticed the Hippo biting off the tips of the purple torch. The torch is closed up making it easier to pick the tips. The tank is fed 3-4 times daily and fresh greens and nori offered daily. Never seen such behavior from a Tang. Might have to get the trap ready.

I heard of Hippo tangs eating corals before on this forum, cant remember the type.

Some tangs will go after certain corals- I hadn't heard of hippos going after torches before, but I know of hippos/other tangs that munched SPS, acans, bubble corals, and zoanthids. You'll have to decide whether you want to keep the hippo and deal with the munching or catch and rehome him to a nice FOWLR.
