So I noticed today that my yellow belly hippo has a white patch on the right side of his cheek. He’s not scratching or showing any spots and is eating normal. Any idea what this might be and how to treat if needed? Thx!

Looks like HLLE. Here's a thread with pics, description and treatment advisory:

Never saw HLLE manifest itself on one side and a white patch but rather breakage along the lateral line. Always learning I suppose. Less concerned about HLLE as I’ve had good luck reversing it. Right now starting a 30 day Hyposalinity regime....It’s more precautionary so I can turn the page on ich troubles and then focus on making fish thrive....

.the white patch in photos above is all gone today....Perhaps tomorrow he will have a horn coming out of his Doral fin!.....this hobby and the fish never cease to amaze.....thx Big G!
