Hitch hiker on live rock ID needed

Is this possibly a feather duster worm? Just noticed this today and would like to know if it’s a good or bad hitch hiker.

I wondering if it is a vermetid snail. Has it ever extended any fan like appendages similar to feather dusters? If not, then I'm leaning towards vermetid

Cool, are they bad? If so how would I remover it without getting exposed to toxins from the paly colony growing on the top?

They can annoy corals with their feeders. Your best bet it to wear long gloves when working in any aquarium for more reasons than just palytoxin. It's just a good practice. I would just put a dab of gel superglue over the end of the tube. You can break it off later. Also, certain fish like wrasses will eat them.

Bumblebee snails are also supposed to eat them…mine didn’t.

Thanks everyone! My only fish in there at the moment is a wrasse so I’ll give it a couple days to see if he’ll nibble at it and then see from there.

I've heard mixed reviews reguarding bumblebee snails and vermatids, not sure if they'd bother with spionids. Glue and snap off method seems to work.

That’s what I wound up doing. Bb snails were more of preventative measures. They eventually starved I think. My pistol shrimp is using them as decorations in his cave.
