hitch hiker or a hidden coral??

I purchased a pulsing xenia coral around 2 weeks ago and did a full 1hr treatment to it before putting it into the tank i also did a 30minute dosing. Today i noticed once it started to close up that it looked like it had a stinger coming out in the middle with another coral i am unfamiliar with it? Should i destroy the coral inside that looks like it has the stinger or leave it??? Seems too be doing no harm too the fish/pulsing xenia thus far.

Looks like maybe a digitate hydroid? Generally not the most welcome creatures, as they can sting. And spread. (Then again, Xenia have a reputation for spreading, too . . . )

I see the pic and it looks like the digitate hydroid/s I had in my tank recently.. I would scrub that section with a toothbrush and try and remove.
