Here it is next to a rfa. It came in with some gulf live rock. I think it's carnivorous because I saw it go into battle with a hermit crab for a bit of food (and win).

Looks like nassarius but need more angled pics for confirmation
 
Nassarius or whelk were my two thoughts also. I am trying to decide whether to take it out or not. These are the only photos I have right now.
Here it is fighting over food with the hermit crab.

I just saw it last night and it moves too fast and acts too aggressive around hermits, so I will be taking it out today. I live a few minutes from the gulf, so I'll take it to the beach and return it.
 
Dont nassarius snails only come out at night? it's the only time I see mine.
I suppose you are right but whenever I put food in the tank they come flying out of the sand, light or no light. Once everything is consumed, back in the sand they go.
