Hello .
I am just now getting into the saltwater tanks and I got a single cured live rock to help cycle my tank as I want most hitchhikers I get to survive, its very interesting to me. Anyways I found these strange lumps I couldn't ID and a little yellowish brown plant with straight leaves I know for aure it isn't sargassum. If anyone could help me with these. Sorry the water is cloudy from the sanf I just added ill take more after it clears in an hoyr or so, Thanks!

Its really hard to see the plant-like one :\

IMO no. Let the water clear up.

Looks like you got a lot of life on that rock.

A reefer after my own heart.

Those are zoas or plays. Looks like they are opening up too.

Yes. I expect so. Don’t add ammonia.

The rock is live right it’s second (live), ammoina will be produced in small quantities but the little bit of die off from the rock and detritus.

Bottled bacteria wouldn be best.

You actually may never register ammoina becuse the Rock is live (skip cycle)

Oh! I was going to cycle with slices of shrimp.. When should I start adding cuc fish ect?
You can skip that. Test the ammonia tomorrow or use an ammonia alert badge. Check ove t the next week or two.

You could (not sure your tank size and how much live other rock you have ) add cuc in two or three weeks most likely. I do like to go slow as a precaution and best practice.

I just have the 13.5 fluval evo. I didn't have space for anything bigger. Well if I can skip the shrimp then I'm going to get more live rock tomorrow. :D

Hahaha! Dig in that bin hard!

I found this once.

It’s a pretty vast set of knowledge we have here.

I put that in cuz she’s a friend,
and who doesn’t like to look at weird hitchhikers?
