These came with liverock I purchased from GulfLiveRock.com <good stuff> The one in the video came as a tiny piece of rubble; no bigger than a pinky nail. The second colony came with the top chopped off to expose the skeleton which has been completely covered by new growth. I' cant figure out if they are all the same but the video one looks as if it could be drastically different. the long tentacles seem to have solid tips common with torches. I glued him to a piece of rubble rock and he has since been thriving when exposed to moderate light and flow.

At first I didn't think they would survive a cycling tank but they have all thrived.

Last pic could be Majana or ball anemone, need a clearer pic

The last one seems to be sprouting new polyps. Its starting to look like the other colony so they are likely the same from what I can see.

When polyps are retracted it looks purplish pinkish.

Still trying to figure out what this is. It has about 8 heads on a small piece of rock.

Thanks for the input. It seems to be a dendrophyllia of some sort. Any information regarding this species would be appreciated. It has been doing very well in my tank as its grown to 8-9 heads visible while tentacles fully elongated. I haven't noticed a difference in its preference for light or flow but it does consume food with its tentacles into the large mouth. It's never stung me or hurt anything that I'm aware of but did notice it retract a bit when a torch tentacle was in range of contact. Anything to worry about with this guy?

It's not a dendro (though I guess somewhat similar), it's hidden cup coral, Phyllangia americana. Pretty common hitchhiker from the gulf, clear tentacles with speckles extend mostly in the evening and at night, and while there may be a photosynthetic element to them, they appear to be primarily NPS. If you're feeding relatively heavily it should survive and multiply just fine. Has a pretty good feeding response and is somewhat sticky, but I've never considered it a risk to any of my livestock - I don't think the sting is that potent.

Had some in my tank for close to two years and it did great, unfortunately, my CBB decided that it tasted good, so I no longer have it.
