Hitchhiker crab ID attempt 2

Hi,

This crab has been in my tank since the start, maybe 6 or 7 months now. Tried to get an ID on it but it was too small to get a decent photo and conclusive ID, so thought I'd try again now.

Doesn't seem to bother fish or corals and just picks at the rock at night, but is still very small.

The crab blends so well into the rock ,it is really hard to see.

Look like a porcelin crab to me there is so many types!

I’d say it’s some type of a xanthid crab and will likely just scavenge what it can. I usually remove them when I can. Have had one get huge on me and another was just mad all the time and liked to kill. Yours may end up being fine. I don’t ever really stress about them and just get them if an easy opportunity presents itself.

How many legs does he have? 6 or 8?

How many legs does he have? 6 or 8?

I think 8. Looks like 6 but it has 3 big legs either side with 1 small leg at the front either side, so 8 in total with 2 claws.
