Hi
Just wondering if anyone has a clue about what this crab might be and if it's safe for the tank.
One of its front pincers is much bigger than the other
Thanks

Looks like a fiddler crab species, also not reef safe. Thrives in a tank that simulates tides. Requires a beach.

Maybe a species of stone crab given those big claws; if so, they may eat your snails, burrow, knock over frags..............
If his eyes are on stalks, could well be a fiddler

Thanks for the reply
I don't think it's s fiddler crab as eyes not on stalks and doesn't need to come out of water which fiddler's need to.
Could be a stone crab but all the images of those show similar sized front claws.
It basically looks like a stone crab but with the claws of a fiddler crab!

Perhaps Platyxanthidae sp.? have one larger “crushing claw”.

How big is it

Going off the starfish legs I would say small. Anything like this little guy

Itching to say Tetralia looking at the pattern on on the leg of the pincer, eyes, and the two different sized pincer legs. Tetralia cinctipes, cavimana and cymodoce to name a few match colours and patterns of your crab hitchhiker.
