Added a piece of live rock from Tampa Bay Saltwater to my tank a few weeks ago. Awesome rock, had all sorts of sponges and coralline algae on it. Also had this crab. I’ve been watching it for a few days once i noticed. Found it on the side of my noae clam this morning. Off to the sump with it. Any idea what kind of crab?

Crabs with pointed claws are generally more aggressive. rounded claws tips are for grazing algae. When in doubt, sump it

I’ve definitely noticed more empty snail shells laying around the sand lately and some dead hermits. I’ve also got 7 pricey clams. I’m not willing to take the chance. It has a nice sump to hand out in though!

Looks like some sort of Xanthid crab. Personally, , , , " IF IN DOUBT, CHUCK IT OUT". Not worth a potential nightmare
