Hitchhiker Fuzzy snail ID

This snail came on my aquacultured rock from KP Aquatics- anyone know what kind it is? I rarely see it and it appears to be slow moving in comparison to my turbo snails. It’s almost like a spongy/fuzzy texture.

it looks cool but I cant ID just from this shot. Any photo you can lift and see its openings?
When in doubt I personally isolate or remove unknown critters just cause you never jnow if they are good or bad guys

Right! I cant seem to find any information on "fuzzy snails" though lol

Personally, the shape reminds me of a whelk (one of the smaller species) coated in sponge, though I am not sure. @LiverockRocks might know.

I do not see it often and am hesitant to pick anything up I do not know what it is but I will put some gloves on and snap a picture when I see it again

I thought it looked like a sponge on it but I am still brand new to saltwater. I found it odd how the entire shell seems to be coated in it though which led me to believe it might not be a sponge.

Are you sure it is a snail and not a hermit that found a sponge covered shell?

With as slow moving as it is and how I never actually see what’s inside it just that it moves from one side of the rocks to the other I’m assuming it’s a snail. I have some small hermits and you can see their eyes and legs but this creature you can’t see anything
