Good morning peeps! Can anyone give me their opinion on what this is? It’s on a zoa rock I’ve had for almost 6 months, and I just saw it growing a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was a color morph, but now it doesn’t look like a zoa.

It almost looks like a baby rock flower anemone, but it’s across the tank and about 18 inches higher then my RFAs. I thought they end up right next to the parent anemone though?.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Dave

While I have no clue what it is, I agree it's definitely not a zoa, and if it is, it's an odd one.

Need a close up picture.

Did you ever find out of it had a hard skeleton or is it soft tissue only?

So talking this over on my reef club’s forum, and my favorite local vendor, Ultimate Coral, @hcker99 who has them in his tank. I have corals from UC, could easily of come from there.

Get this, baby plate coral!! I hope that is what this turns out to be :)...
