Hello,

I just recently set up my tank a few days ago and noticed a couple of hitchhikers on my live rock today.

Is this one aiptasia? It retracts back into it's hole when touched.

And lastly what type of snail is this one? The snail is fairly small around 1/4"-1/2" in diameter.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

First is definitely aiptasia. Second I fear may be a zoa eating sundial snail

Sorry you are starting with some bad hitchhikers :( welcome to reef2reef.

Thanks guys! Going to try the hot water trick on the aiptasia and see how that works.

I’ve injected hydrogen peroxide in them with a needle at the base. This is what works for me. When I’ve tried scrubbing and pulling them off they would spread. I used a tiny tuberculin or 1ml syringe like diabetics use to give themselves injections.

Colonista snail.

Update: Removed the aiptasai with the hot water trick and it worked really well. Here's the video for it if anyone is interested.
