I need the experts here to identify a newly discovered life form in my DT. I bough two frag packs one LPS and one Zoa. Newbie mistake 500 and the fact fedex lost my coral RX I didn’t dip my new frags. I think I have two issues right now. Had to reset the tank after a velvet outbreak killed almost all fish within 48 hours. The first two pictures I’m sure is a hitchhiker of sorts. The second two pics I think is some sort of algae or bacteria.

Need a clearer picture of the hitchhiker. The algae you are referring to looks like cyanobacteria to me

It’s hard to get a good pic of the potential hitchhiker. See if this helps. It’s hard to tell if it’s red or brown.

Does it move and or retract? Can you describe it because all I see is what looks to be a string of maybe algae.

It’s attached to the rock and just kind of sways back and forth. I’m not sure if it retracts or not. Just noticed it and haven’t spent too much time watching it.

It is definitely more rigid in its movement. Meaning the entire length doesn’t move it more pivots around it’s base on the rock
