Could someone please tell me what the creature is called?Also please tell me if they are good or bad because they have been spreading like wildfire?PS its the white thing on the powerhead

I agree with the sponge, but hard to tell with the powerhead in the way. Can you move it so we can get a better pic?

Need some clearer pictures if you can. My guess its just a sponge or something similar. More than likely harmless.

I can't tell what you are looking at but from the description they sound like the mini feather dusters? Are they hard to the touch?

cvysochin yes thank you that is it exactly what it is.Yes I am new to reef2reef I hope to get a new camera soon so I can show you all my tank.Thanks For all the feedback and does anybody else be the way have a bunch of these q-tip sponges in there tank.

Also by the way I have had my tank for about 4 months now.I have a 20 gallon high.Do any of you know if these sponges will soon die off?Also have any of you had a q-tip sponge outbreak?Do these Sponges die off on there own?

Ahh yes I have them, what lights do you have on the tank? Seems mine are all in the shaded areas.

I have 2 t5 bulbs atinic and 10k.Most of mine are under rocks to but i also have some in direct light.

I used to have a 20g high and I used 4 T5 bulbs on it, you might add a few more and they might dissapear.

I was looking at a new light because I would like some sps so I come accross aquatraders they have very low prices can you please tell me if this is a good quality light for sps.

That one doesn't look like it has individual reflectors, I would suggest a Tek lighting fixture. Or if you are handy with making stuff I can link you to some great DIY setups?
