Got some hitchhikers on my live rock that just grew out. I think it is aiptasia? New to this. Can someone tell me what this is and what I should do?

Aiptasia. Nasty little buggers you want to get rid of quickly. Take rock out of water, scrape off rock best you can, cover with super glue. Then rinse rock and put back. Otherwise, some shrimp can help.

Yeah, definitely aptasia. Dealing with some in my tank. They are so annoying.

Got a (super tiny) Aptasia Eating Filefish. Haven't seen it go anywhere near the couple bigger ones I know of. Hoping it might be finding/eating any smaller ones that might popup.

I've tried Aptasia-X with very limited success. I've pulled out rocks and superglued when I can.

Other times I use some of that two-part epoxy with a dab of superglue and try to cover the aptasia. Doesn't always work because the rock is so porous and there might be escape routes.

Easiest route to elimination is using a syringe, inject lemon juice or better yet kalkwasser powder mixed into a thin paste INTO THE CENTER CORE of the aoptasia and it will melt away

Or vinegar

I removed the live rock from the tank... I have 100 lbs of dry rock and tank is fully cycled... may just sun bleach the live rock and add coralline in a bottle to my tank... does this sound like a better plan so I don’t take a chance of starting with a big problem?

Where was the live rock from? If purchased, no, do not nuke it! You lose so much good stuff. I found the peppermint shrimp to actually work really well. I got them from KP Aquatics. Had some live rock in qt with aiptasia and none on it now.
