Hitchhiker Paly on Australian Acan

I noticed this single Palythoa polyp on an Australian lordhowensis colony.

Anyone have an idea of what it is?

I noticed it right away, but could not get a good shot of it. But today when I was posting a pic of the lords, there is was starring me in the face.

It's purple with a Green diamond in the middle.

Here's a few of my Aussie Acans

That first one is bright yellow and green, but the yellow does not show up well in the photos.

And you'll have to excuse the poor quality. My camera was not on the tripod very well, and after 2 shots if fell off and the outer lens popped off. So I guess I'm in the market for a new Camera.


I'm off to attempt to take more shots of the others.

Very cool Paly! I had a hitchhiker paly once on a red mushroom rock. It is one of my favorite colonies now.

there was a sweet rock of palys (same type of paly as mish-mash/PD/NG) I picked up from the Australian shipment that came in.......the colour ain't too special...more of a bright tan/beige, on a dark background, plus a line that makes it look like a cat-eye.....I know, it doesn't sound too amazing, but it's a 100% Australian, so i had to get it! LOL....will post a pic soon

again, nice score on the aussie acans, Randy!....i've got a frag of that red/pink/orange acan lord ready to trade for a piece of that lemon acan (your first pic)...have no idea how it'll get to you (and vice versa)...oh well

oh yeah...you might want to plan your trip back up to Toronto asap!...both of the stores that brought in the Aussie Acans are bringing them in again...in fact, one store is sending someone to hand-pick a few pieces...he leaves in about 2 weeks (it's Jay - you met him, right?)....god...it's gonna be crazy....hand-picked aussie acans - can it get any better!?! LOL

Hey Zach,
Of course I know Jay and Jensen. Had a nice visit with them this past Saturday. Jay said he was leaving this week for Indonesia, but I dont recall him saying he was going to Aussie land to pick lords. He did say they were getting more lords in a few weeks, but I was under the impression it was a normal shipment, not hand picked.
I could be wrong.

Randy it could be an AOI or Blue Eye Dragon as they look same variety
