Hey everybody. I happened to be coming through my house after it was lights out tonight and I used my phone light to peek at the tank real quick. Surprisingly I found this guy sliding across the top of my rock. After a quick google search I think it may be a Stomatella snail but not certain. I seem to be missing 1 trochus snail so could it possibly be him outside of his shell? It appears to have a really thin circular shell on its back that’s almost transparent. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Stomatella snail, you probably have more of them you don't know about, which is fantastic because they breed readily in aquarium conditions. A little self-regulating clean up crew. They don't seem to graze heavily on hair algae however, so... don't get that.

Awesome. Thanks for the help. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more of them at night. Also coralline is starting to really explode in my tank so I’m thankful that I’m starting to pick up more diversity. I’m about 3 months into my first tank and loving the hobby.

Three months! Awesome! Have you started a build thread yet? I'm sure we'd love to see how it's coming along! I love to watch new waterkeepers grow into the hobby as well!

I’ve considered starting one but haven’t gotten around to it honestly. I have a 4 week old newborn at the house as well so life is busy but enjoying every minute of it. I may get around to doing a thread. Definitely have plenty of pictures of the tank in different stages.
