i am new to this hobby and in my 13.5 gallon my wife noticed this guy hanging out on a piece of rock. I have no idea what this is any help would be greatly appreviated.

I'm picking micro brittle star, but I never had them. Anyone else?

Brittle star, good member of the clean up crew. We have hundreds.

Either micro brittle star or juvenile brittle/serpent star. The proportions look slightly off for micro brittle but I usually only see the waving legs!

Either way a good guy with one exception - there is a species of green brittle star that is not good for reef tanks. Watch her, see if she grows and if she grows and she's green sump her.

They can easily ride in clinging to the bottom of a frag plug.

They spend their days waving their arms in the water to capture tiny plankton, and by night, go searching for food among the detritus.
