That's what I thought at first too but limpets move arround and eat algae. This guy just opens and sifts then closing really quick. I am thinking some kind of clam?

Could be a bivalve then.

FancyCorals wins the prize!!!! Thorny Oyster it is! That's a score cuz these baby's ain't cheap! However, prone to carry protozoan diseases and requires frequent feeding (Marine Snow, etc). Cool hitchhiker though.
