I purchased a Xenia about 2 months ago and it had a small green (what looked like a kryptonite candy cane) growth attached to it. After 2 weeks or so it began to grow quickly and the two were fighting over the rock, so I cut them apart and it began to really take off. So much so that I had to add rock to the base twice to keep it out of the sand. Now it has little friends growing in various spots all over the rock and I’m wondering if it is a bad thing now as I have learned that nothing good in the salt hobby happens quickly. Was hoping someone can help identify it and provide some insight as I just dropped a lot of money on larger setup and will be moving everything over in the next week or so. Thanks in advance...

On the right in the second picture? That’s a mushroom coral. Looks like maybe some kind of Yuma. Wont hurt anything unless you just don’t like it, but personally they’re some of my favorite coral

Yep, that’s the one, thank you.
First picture is what it looked like when I discovered it, second is the amount a growth over a 3month span. I was just worried by the rapid growth and all the of the new little ones beginning to grow around it... figured I was nurturing some form of bubble algae or something, lol....

Thanks again!

It’s always good to be sure! Glad I could help :D
