Maybe it's just the photo that makes it look enormous, but how big is that hermit crab, and where can I get one?

Live fish happen to be his favorite snack! And make no mistake about it, Tamatoa does want to eat that smaller green hermit crabSounds like a perfect fit, unless they will also eat fish. Which I'm guessing that behemoth would.

this pic was so cute
Daaaaang. How do you keep it then, in its own species specific tank, like some sort of beast from myth?Live fish happen to be his favorite snack! And make no mistake about it, Tamatoa does want to eat that smaller green hermit crab

Just over a year. Ya he's super aggressive, even a year later he still savagly attacks the feeding tongs everydayWatch your fingers with that one. How long have you had it?
They really are alot of fun to watch. And he has lived peacefully for months with some blue damsels in the past (those are the only fish that are fast enough and cheap enough to try). But they all mysteriously disappear eventuallyThe more I hear about this, the more I want one. Would be awesome to have a football sized murdercrab. More practical than a mantis shrimp.
. I've also tried mollies. They are much too slow and dumb and don't have a healthy fear of giant claws...
sounds like the average lobster in a tankTo quote one of my local reef club members
"Probably a Dadanus Megistos, the breaker of reef worlds, stripping all life from the very rocks beneath its feet.
Want your tank to start from scratch all over again? This is your ticket”
Ya he's in his own 30 something gallon bowfront tank right now with just a handful of smaller hermits. But he'll definitely need a tank upgrade when he grows to the size of a football
i wonder if he finds it fun?Another ride today. A couple of weirdos imo
