So a couple months ago I got a strawberry crab. Cute fella, but about a month ago he set up camp in a cave, and he drags everything that isn’t bolted down in there with him. He’s my tank hoarder. His “garage” is full of a full molt of himself, and a good dozen shells And small rocks he steals from the sand. The biggest issue is my coco worm. He drags him in there too. Coco probably doesn’t mind so much, but I know he needs flow and I like to see him. If I pull coco out, the next morning, no matter where i put him, he’s back in the cave. The the crab pulls him in so his tube (kinda ovals) Is wedged tight and I have to be super careful getting him out. So after playing this game for a few weeks, I decided to let him have his coco friend and I would just pull his head end out far enough so he would have some flow. But he keeps pulling him back in as far as he can.

thoughts? I’ve never glued down a coco worm, I’m not sure it’s ok. I’ve even moved him to the opposite corner of the tank and buried most of his tube in the sand... nothing keeps strawberry from his coco.

That's hilarious. Well, you have two options one you can glue coco down (gluing the skeleton down is fine) hopefully that will deter strawberry from trying to move it or two you get ride of strawberry which in my opinion is a last resort. Post a picture, I'd be interested in seeing the "garage"

I will take one in the morning Lol. if I glue down coco I should put a video camera on it that first night to watch him try to drag it home.

That would be a great gif for the site. Poor strawberry is gonna be quite upset. Lol

Here is the cave all cleaned out. Coco is off to the right in the sand.

Haha that's pretty cool! Did you glue coco down or was it back in the garage this morning?

He was not back in this morning! I cleared the cave last night and it’s as I left it. I‘ll take a pic next morning he’s back at it, probably tomorrow. I took some of the empty hermit shells and little pieces of rock and stuff out of the tank so he’s going to have to work a little harder for his hoard. Or he could molt again and have another creepy roommate...

Update....this guy is playing games. For weeks we have been dragging coco around, and for two nights now he has left him alone. He pulled some small shells into his cave, but took the molt and put it over by coco. One pic is from last night before bed. My goby is like hey thanks for cleaning my room. The cave had been his for years prior but strawberry crowded him out. Second pic is from this morning. Molt parked next to coco. Maybe he’s just redecorating.

Here’s a pic from Wednesday my hubs sent me at work while he was looking for a wayward rock nem (since found) who was new to the tank. He thought maybe the real white shell was a balled up nem but it’s just one of strawberry’s playthings. This is the “garage“ with coco and everything else crammed in. Sorry for the crappy phone pics lol.
