I'm going to be getting some leathers and I've been reading they are toxic when shedding. And that carbon can clear that. I have a tidal 35 on a 20 gallon and I'm not sure how to set it up to negate them if they do chemical warfare. I don't really want to use carbon unless that's just the best thing? I saw somewhere seachem purigen can remove their toxins? Are there other options?

My suggestion is to have the ability to run carbon if things seem out of whack in your tank, and just observe carefully. Plenty of tanks have leather corals and do not run carbon. I tend to run a small amount of chemipure blue all the time in mine. It's basically a mix of carbon, gfo and purigen. It doesn't cause any problems but if I'm honest I don't know if it does anything. I add more if there is an obvious problem. E.g. two weeks ago, when I had major coral warfare going on.

Thank you! I have some carbon on hand just in case.

I just got my nepthea and the poor thing was free floating in its bag in a box that was delivered upside down. it was squished against the side of the bag. Does it look normal? It's leaning a lot. My clove polyps closed up as soon as I places it in the tank. It's tiny but I should probably run some carbon now?
