Im using sponge only rn and was wondering if I should switch to filter floss, I’m also in the end stage of my cycle. I heard sponges are nitrate nightmares.

Sponges are ok as long as they get rinse out properly. However, a filter pad may catch more fine particles. The tradeoff is that the filter pad or floss increases the chance of water bypassing the filter media
