Hello, I have converted my 38G Freshwater to Saltwater. Its in 4th week now. I am running a skimmer and HOB filter, started with live rocks and live sand and a blue damsel which is doing great. My HOB Filter is running with the filter it came with (a blue filter attached to a carbon container)and I have not added anything to it yet.

Love to know if I should move to Canister or stay with HOB. Also what kind of media should I use in HOB or Canister?

Thanks in Advance...

Both HOB or cannister will do the job. HOB are easier to change out media but canisters don't make as much salt creep. I like activated carbon always and use gfo if phosphates are creating an algae problem.

Thx for reply. Yes I need to clean salt from all around filter cover and few more areas. What Would you recommend for a 38G --- Fluval 306 (303GPH), Fluval 406 (398GPH) or Eheim 2213. Thx
