HOB filter recommendation

Just curious on thoughts on a reliable HOB filter. I've previously been buying the Aqueon filters for quarantine but I had another one crap out on me.

Is there one that seems to be more reliable? Just going to use it for the basics of quarantine so don't need anything fancy just needs to be able to house a sponge filter and carbon when needed.

You can't beat those Aquaclear HOB filters IME. These things are extremely easy to use and they last for years.

Agreed. If it's an easy and reliable hob you want it's the aquaclear. Plus you have the basket so you can easily lay your carbon etc inside like you wanted

And another thing Idk if it matters but they are extremely quite also. I wish I had went with one instead of getting the aqueon I think it was

I would have suggested that as a second choice! However, mine just crapped out a couple months back while QT'ing a 6 line wrasse. I do like the wheel because it seems easier to control bacteria. Where as the ceramic nodes tend to get thrown away more often. That said, mine died...but I had it for 2 years.
