I have a lifereef HOB overflowbox. I am using the nano version on a 36 gallon reef aquarium into a 10 gallon sump. My question is that the plumbing from the box to the sump is straight down about 3 feet into a filter sock. I do have a ball valve connected onto it to control the flow which actually helped. I keep seeing everyone put 90 degree and 45 degree elbows on them? Is it ok to run it straight into the sump filter sock as i am doing. I am using a stockman standpipe to siphon the water down (which i still get some air pockets) i am still working on it. But my major question was running it directly how i am. I hate to keep thinking about it. I'm sure its easier than i am making it out to be. Thanks for any input.

Thanks, I didn't think it would be an issue but didn't know. I'm only running 330gph lol. I was getting a lot of bubbles and turbulent flow but cracking the ball valve a bit took care of that. I am still trying to keep the flushing noise I get every once in a while solved from my stockman that I made. I'm gonna try remaking it with a different design.
