Hey guys

I'm setting up a 40 Gallon Breeder and I was wondering if I should just buy a HOB Overflow or drill (never drilled before). I know drilling is way more reliable but... is it easy/not risky?

+ Anyone with 40b builds, wanna share your threads :) Would love some inspiration/information on what return pumps and etc. etc.

Thanks!
Drill the tank you never want to fight a war with gravity bc you will lose and most of the time you are not home to do something about it here is a video on how to drill a tank the easy way. Best of luck man

Drill, drill, drill. I started with an HOB, and after two floods, I drilled. You won't be sorry. And once you do one hole and see how easy it is.....you now an expert in drilling glass. I'd go with the Glass.Holes 700 gph kit. You get everything, including the drill bit to drill the glass. I haven't look at their site recently, but they use to have videos showing you how easy it is to drill. Go for it!

I have 4 40 gallon breeders on a single wet dry filter. Raising African Cichlids. All on eshops overflows. If you keep the siphon tubes free of algae you should have no issues.

I mean.. the price of the HOB and drilling is about the same so I guess I'll go with drilling for sure!

Only thing about glass holes is that it doesn't come with a emegency overflow. It's just one :/

???? It's an 1 1/2" pipe where the water first has to go through approximately 1/4" saw-teeth. What could possibly get through that to clog up that big pipe?
