Hi all! I am beginning to put a sump on my 50 gallon. It is NOT DRILLED for overflow. It's also glass. What are some recommendations I could do? I've been looking at the CPR Overflow boxes.

CPRs are ok, your going to need an Aqualifter for it. Then you'll have to watch the airline, it will harden over time, then lossen up, and let air in. My recomendations for this would be to run an airline from the tip of the CPR into a pump or powerhead in the sump, so that when power loss happens and the pump or powerhead starts back up, this removes the air from the wier on the CPR.

Awesome. Thanks for the tip. What is the normal range of gph for this if I'm needed to buy a pump. I am running a canister filter right now.

The pump is just for restarting the siphon from the CPR, you don't need a big pump for it.
The CPR has a WEIR instead of a U-Tube for water to flow from the tank to the rear overflow, this weir has a nipple on top of it, to attach an airline, to remove air bubbles from that weir, so that the siphon doesn't break. Its imperative the siphon doesn't break, or you get a flood in the room where the tank is.

I have been running an eshopps for a few years with no problems, no pump needed. It is a little noisy but I haven't moded the stand pipe so it is just open

I also have been running an Eshopps for over a year with no issues. The pump is shut off once a week for tank maintenance and I have never had an issue with the siphon not restarting.

+1 for eshopps, if kept clean and run with a proper gph pump they are foolproof. I used sponge to keep things out of the overflow box and an airline in the drain tube and it was dead silent, even killed the water trickle noise in the overflow box by cutting up a plastic bag and hanging it on the teeth to give the water something to run down. never once had a flood related to the eshopps overflow.
