im thinking off adding my 24 gallon nano to my other system with a sump. Has anyone had experience with the eshopps hob overflow?

I feel like it's super scary and risky. Anyone have input on this

Yep I have one on my biocube 29 that goes to an eShopps nano cube sump. Works great, but am considering going to one of the newer eshopps eclipse boxes though instead. Nothing risky once you figure out the water levels and I got rid on the tube and filter thing that came with it and made a pvc drain tube. Tank is broken down now but can snap some pics if you want.

You never worried about a snail accidentally crawling in there and plugging it or anything?

Nope the drain tube I have setup make it impossible. Plus on the BC it has the back all in one chamber for an extra level of protection. So a snail would have to make a VERY long And complicate journey on my tank. If you were to have the overflow side exposed there may be a chance I guess.

I run an eshoppe overflow from my fuge back to my sump. Never been an issue. About 6 months running. Just make sure you get the proper sized return pump for your overflow. Too much and it can't keep up. Too little and it will slowly develop an air pocket in U tube that will eventually break siphon. All in all a great product though.
