HOB overflow

is this bad to have in my overflow I have a PF800 overflow. How can I stop it thanks.

You need to add more flow entering, run your return pump higher this will clear the air bubbles and much safer, hob overflows like that are much safer at running max air bubbles can cause issues and break syphon. Or try and re start the syphon and get all air bubbles out of you have your return pump maxed.

My sump runs out dry when I put it higher
 
I have the same overflow, is this right after starting the siphon or do they accumulate over time? If it's after starting the siphon what I do is just tap the U-tube until the bubbles move through. If they are accumulating over time then there isn't enough flow through the U-tube. If you can't run the pump higher without running the return dry, you can point a PH at the overflow to push more water through it.
