Ok I have to admit I feel like an idiot posting this, but here goes. I have a IM 20G panorama drop off tank and I bought an Aquamaxx HOB Refugium to go on it. It fits more or less I had to trim a bit of plastic but its on and seems to sit well. The problem is while the pump removed water from the Refugium I don’t get any return flow into it and I don’t see how it could ever happen as the weir doesn’t sit low enough...

Did you add more water to the tank after you had it run?

I filled the Refugium up with water and it pumps it into the display but water never returns into the hob and I don’t see how it possibly could with the way it’s designed.

There shouldn't be a pump removing water from the hob refugium. A pump should pump water from your back chamber into the hob refugium, and have the water overflow back out.

A true refugium does not really want to have water go through a pump as to keep the little bugs from dealing with impeller. With this in mind HOB's as refugiums generally pull from the tank and then overflow back into it. I am a bit confused as to how you have your configured.

Hum so the pump needs to sit in the display and not in the fuge? Instructions don’t look like that to me..

Even though the pump sit inside the refugium, it's sucking water from the display into the fuge. You should connect the input of the pump to the pipe that goes into display.
